In some parts of history, certain religions have done a good job helping to define morals and encouraging people to live rich and meaningful lives. But in others, being the majority, it’s set humanity back centuries, killed millions, condemned and stifled scientific progress, and obliterated creativity and individuality. But non religious institutions have done the same, but everyone gets tired of hearing about Hitler and friends…
I think it’s the individual, people who chose to make a change and fight for it, who help to define the morals of humanity. Religion or no religion, people who care are the key element.
